Maritime Museum Trip Recount

Yesterday, the senior syndicate went to maritime museum. Luckily, we got the chance to go on a waka! We wore life jackets to ensure our safety just in case someone fell off. They told us a bit about the waka, like how it had been all around the earth and I think it had 6 other twins but in different places in the world.

When we got off the waka, we took off our life jackets and gave them to the next class (Room 13) Next, we went back inside and learnt some interesting stuff about New Zealand history. They also taught us parts of the waka and how it was assembled . After that, we watched a short clip on how New Zealand was found and we got to learn how they tied their wakas.

Lastly, we got to explore the museum! We had received a page of things we needed to find. It was very fun, there were facts everywhere and we could interact with some stuff. The group I was in almost found everything just 1 thing we couldn't find. After, we had lunch and said thank you for allowing the senior syndicate to come to maritime museum.

Koru Art

This is my koru art but it is currently incomplete. The reason why we are making this is because the focus of this term is identity. It also gives a chance for everyone to share what their cultures are about.

Which One Doesn't Belong?

Yesterday, I did this activity called "Which One Doesn't Belong" for Literacy.

I had to look carefully at the pictures. I saw in the 4 images on each slide and I had to write down why they weren't the same. Can you think of anymore differences?

On the last slide there is a challenge for you to try out, can you think of some reasons?
